A recent Unizik Graduate of physiology Dies

 UPDATE OF THE DEMISE OF MR VICTOR Ekwuazi IKENNA 

MR VICTOR Ekwuazi IKENNA a recent graduate(class of 2021) from the department of physiology,college of health Sciences,Nnamdi Azikwe University,Nnewi campus,was confirmed dead on these date and time(Wednesday 29th December,2021 at about 12:10PM)at Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH),Nnewi.

He was apparently in a normal state of health until 7days ago prior to his presentation in NAUTH,when he was said to have symptoms of Fever, Headache,body weakness,chills and Rigors(which was presumed by informants -a fellow departmental colleague,to be Malaria).He was given anti malaria drugs to which it was said to be completed dosage 2days ago.Same date,he went out with friends,took pictures as he appeared healthy.

Yesterday,he was said to have high grade fever associated with chills and Rigors.For this,he was rushed to 2 different peripheral hospitals before he was rushed to NAUTH.(According to the informant,no medical care was done at any of the peripheral hospitals).

On arrival to the NAUTH,he was said to be gasping for breathe(poor respiratory effort),oxygen saturation level was 0,blood pressure was 70/??.random blood sugar was 188mg/dl.Ambu bagging and CPR were attempted and IV fluid were given.

With the aforementioned been said ,it saddens my heart to bring to your notice the demise of Mr. VICTOR EKWUAZI IKENNA,a recent graduate from the Department of Physiology,College of heath sciences,Nnamdi Azikwe University
